Dr. Pierce earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with an emphasis in Rehabilitation Counseling at The Pennsylvania State University. She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University. She has served as a counselor and supervisor in a variety of settings with a clinical emphasis on trauma and disability. Her research interests include disability identity development and expression, ableism in higher education and mental health services, and improving access to empirically based interventions for the disability community. She is a current member of the National Board for Certified Counselors Minority Fellowship Program Advisory Council, Senior Associate Editor for the International Association for Resilience and Trauma Counseling Newsletter, and Chair for the North Atlantic Region Association for Counselor Education and Supervision Accessibility Committee. Dr. Pierce is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).
