The interdisciplinary focus of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership degree provides a targeted study of leadership along with the development of conceptual, interpersonal, and technical administrative and organization skills. 

The degree program is designed for mid-career adult learners who have four or more years of work experience, and with a keen appreciation of the leader's critical and evolving role in the change process and dynamic environment of 21st Century organizations. Courses provide a practical, real world approach to administration, emphasizing leadership, interpersonal relations, and implementation of change in a global environment.

Leadership is an essential element in nearly any organization in any career field. Leaders bring cohesiveness to diverse groups of people. Leaders clearly define goals, give their teams purpose, and motivate them toward the highest levels of success. The ability to confront change and make the appropriate adjustments is critical to any organization. Leadership skills facilitate change with minimal disruption and a focus on continued improvement. Those with the ability to lead in today’s challenging environment are considered to be valuable assets. For more than a decade, Mercer’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership has been the program of choice for future leaders in all walks of life.


Led by faculty with recent, real world experience, courses within this program take a practical approach to delivering the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. In classroom sessions, students will learn alongside their peers in an energized seminar environment. Between meetings, interactive online content keeps students engaged and moving forward. Graduates of the Organizational Leadership Program move on to serve as directors, consultants, training and development coordinators, human resource professionals, team leaders, administrators, and supervisors in all types of organizations. Total requirements for a Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership are 120 hours compromised of studies in General Education Core, Electives, and Major Requirements. Courses are offered on weekday evenings or Saturdays, and students can proceed through the program at their own pace. Courses are offered face-to-face, in a hybrid format, and online.
